Brand new Duke of Edinburgh Proof coin honours 70 years of service

Buckingham Palace have announced that HRH The Duke of Edinburgh's final public engagement will take place on 2nd August before he officially retires from public duty after 70 years at Her Majesty's side.

In celebration of Prince Philip’s 70 years of devoted service to Her Majesty, the United Kingdom, and the Commonwealth, a brand new Proof Five Pound has just been released and you can pre-reserve yours today.

Brand new portrait fully approved by Buckingham Palace

The coin features a brand new portrait of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, sculpted by renowned numismatic artist David Cornell, and importantly has been fully authorised by Buckingham Palace and Her Majesty.

Struck to a pristine proof finish, which is always the collectors’ favourite, Prince Philip’s portrait has also been highlighted in selective gold ink. He is joined on the coin by HM the Queen, who’s well-known effigy by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS adorns the obverse.

Your coin comes displayed in a presentation case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
