2006 UK 80th Birthday £5 Coin

To celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday, The Royal Mint issued this commemorative £5 coin in 2006.

This £5 is a particularly sought after issue and a must-have for any royalty collector.

Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born on 21st April 1926. She served as an officer in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II and married Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten in 1947 before succeeding her father as Queen Elizabeth II in 1952.

The reverse design by Danuta Solowiej-Wedderburn features three trumpeters with trumpet banners accompanied by the inscription Vivat Regina and the anniversary dates.

£5 coins are reserved for the most important Royal and Historical anniversaries, and there are few Royal events which are as important as Her Majesty's birthday.

Your coin will come protectively encapsulated in official Change Checker packaging, ensuring your £5 will be preserved for generations.
