The “Missing” 2016 Royal Shield 50p Coin

Definitive 50p coins are usually issued into circulation every year. They generally go unnoticed because they are so readily available and the mintage figures are usually in the high millions.

However… you won’t find any 2016 dated 50p coins.

Due to the large quantity of commemorative 50p designs that were released into circulation in 2016 including the 5 coin Beatrix Potter series, no 2016-dated definitive 50p coins were struck for circulation.

Featuring a section of the Royal Arms by Matthew Dent, this 50p coin was only struck for use in 2016 Annual Coin sets which are no longer available from The Royal Mint.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t be one of the very few people to add one to your collection today.

We have limited stock available so don’t delay, add the 2016 Definitive 50p coin to your collection today.
