1995 VE Day £2

This Silver Proof £2 Peace and Freedom Coin struck by the Royal Mint in 1995 commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the End of the War.

1995 marked half a century of peace and prosperity after the Second World War and many European countries had reason to celebrate.

The coins reverse was designed by Norman Sillman and was completely devoid of inscriptions and dates and instead fully occupied with the plumpest peace dove on record.
