The "Missing" 2016 Royal Shield £1 Coin

Every year since 2008, The Royal Mint has issued the definitive Royal Shield £1 coin into circulation.

There was just one exception… in 2016.

Due to the launch of the new 12-sided £1 coin which was released into circulation earlier this year to much fanfare, no 2016-dated definitive pound coins were struck for circulation.

Featuring the Royal Shield of Arms by Timothy Noad, this £1 coin was only struck for use in 2016 Annual Coin sets which are no longer available from The Royal Mint.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t be one of the very few people to add one to your collection today.

We have limited stock available so don’t delay, add the 2016 Definitive £1 coin to your collection today.
