Goalball Olympic 50p
The Goalball 50p was issued as part of a series of 29 Olympic 50ps in commemoration of London 2012, with each 50p featuring a different Olympic Sport.
Played competitively in more than 100 countries, Goalball is one of the most popular Paralympic sports. All athletes wear eye shades, and the object of the game is to roll an audible ball into the opponent's goal.
Jonathan Wren, a freelance animator from Buckinghamshire was the designer of this 50p. The reverse design features a Goalball player throwing a ball.
