NEW Royal Mews BU 50p Collector Pack

The definitive British royalty release, these five brand new 50p coins celebrate the traditional royal customs, unique to our great nation and admired world-over.

The new designs include:

  • The Diamond Jubilee Coach - first used in 2014, it is the newest addition to the Mews. The interior wooden panels of the coach are made from objects donated by over 100 historic sites and organisations from across Britain.
  • The Royal Mews Building - designed and built in the gardens of Buckingham Palace in 1824 by John Nash. The Royal Mews houses all the Royal Family's cars and carriages and cares for the horses.
  • Windsor Grey Horse - stabled at the Royal Mews, the Windsor Grey Horses are trained to draw the carriages of the King and members of the Royal Family. They are chosen for their excellent stamina and temperament.
  • The Gold State Coach - used at every coronation since 1831, including that of King Charles in 2023. It is gilded in gold and upholstered with velvet and satin. It weighs four tonnes and it only ever used at walking pace.
  • Royal Mews Footmen - The footmen play an important role in the Royal Mews. They look after the horses and carriages and take part in official occasions. Their liveries change depending on the occasion
