The Isle of Man TT is back!
Coined as one of the most dangerous races in the world, it’s known to motoring enthusiasts as the ‘Ultimate Road Race’ and has run on the Isle of Man since 1907 - only ever cancelled during wartime, the 2001 Foot and Mouth outbreak and the Covid-19 pandemic.
As the excitement builds for the return of the races this year, the Isle of Man have released TWO £2 coins in celebration of the event!
The Designs
The first design features the famous Grandstand which both starts and ends the TT Races, and the second features a volunteer TT Races Marshall who has the important job of signalling danger and waving the final chequered flag.
Isle of Man TT coins are notoriously sought-after among collectors, meaning demand for this coin pair is set to be high!
What's more, excitingly 15,000 of each coin will be released into circulation on the island. However, with such small mintages compared to their UK counterparts and the fact that they are not legal tender in the UK, you’d have to be incredibly lucky to find one in your change…
