Handball Olympic 50p
This coin was issued as part of a series of 29 Olympic 50ps in commemoration of London 2012, with each 50p featuring a different Olympic Sport.
Handball is played in an indoor court between two teams of seven, the objective being to throw the ball into the opponent's goal using only your hands.
Natasha Ratcliffe, a self-employed artist and sculptor from Cornwall was the winning designer for the Handball 50p. She also designed the Wheelchair Rugby coin. The reverse features a handball player in front of the handball court.
