8th May 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of VE Day. And, for Jersey, VE Day has an extra level of poignancy as the following day the Channel Islands were liberated from Nazi occupation - the only British soil that Germany was ever able to conquer.
Exclusively available from The Westminster Collection, you can now own the 70th Anniversary of VE Day Silver Coin Cover which has been issued in commemoration of this significant occasion.
The cover contains six brand new official Victory and Liberation stamps - issued by Jersey - which feature designs inspired by 1940s art. Importantly, these stamps have also been postmarked with the notable first day of issue date - 9th May 2015.
Enclosed within the Cover is the official Jersey Treasury Silver Proof £5 Coin, which has been issued especially to mark this 70th anniversary.
The coin has been struck to standard British Isles £5 specification from solid Sterling Silver and has been minted to the highest proof finish. Modern colouring techniques mean that the celebratory Union Flags are picked out in full red, white and blue.
Each Cover has been individually hand-numbered in silver ink within its 495 edition limit and is housed within a Luxury Presentation Folder with a Certificate of Authenticity.
As an extra-poignant Commemorative Cover issued to mark this historic event, it is a must-have to add to your collection. Secure your Cover today.
