Silver Proof UK £5 issued to honour HRH Prince Philip

To mark the life and achievements of the late Duke of Edinburgh, HRH Prince Philip, The Royal Mint has just released a brand new UK Silver Proof £5 coin.

This new commemorative features a never before seen portrait of Prince Philip by renowned engraver Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.

Significantly, the Duke of Edinburgh himself played a key role in the design of this coin, having selected and approved the portrait in 2008.

It has been expertly struck by The Royal Mint from .925 silver to a flawless proof finish, and will arrive housed in its presentation box from The Royal Mint, complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity guaranteeing your coin’s place in the low edition limit…

Strict edition limit of 6,000 set

A strict worldwide edition limit of 6,000 single coins has been authorised for release worldwide – unlikely to be enough to meet demand from collectors looking to pay their respects and celebrate Prince Philip’s incredible life.
