The perfect stamp and coin tribute, the Stephen Hawking Coin First Day Cover features commemoratives issued to celebrate the contributions of internationally acclaimed physicist, Stephen Hawking.
The coin is the BRAND NEW 50p from The Royal Mint. The reverse design, by Edwina Ellis, commemorates the genius of Hawking’s ground-breaking work on black holes, whilst the reverse sports Jody Clark’s fifth portrait of Her Majesty the Queen.
The stamps, personally endorsed by Stephen Hawking when they were released in 2016, feature not only the Professor himself, but also perhaps his most notable work, Hawking Radiation. Each stamp benefits from a rare iridescent foil printing technique, and were issued to mark 100 years of Professor Albert Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity, through to the work of Professor Hawking.
On featuring on his own stamp, Professor Hawking said: “I am honoured to have both my face and life's work featured alongside Albert Einstein and the commemoration of 100 years since the publication of his theory of general relativity”.
Significantly, JUST 2,019 Stephen Hawking 50p coins have been reserved for use in the Stephen Hawking Presentation Coin Cover – a TINY amount given the global success of the 50p since its release last week.
And what’s more, your cover will be specially postmarked with a special Stephen Hawking-inspired cancellation on the exact one-year anniversary date since the late Professor’s passing – 14 March 2019.
