Boccia Olympic 50p

Boccia Olympic 50p

Boccia Olympic 50p

This coin was issued as part of a series of 29 Olympic 50ps in commemoration of London 2012, with each 50p featuring a different Olympic Sport.

Boccia is a sport similar to bowls, with the principal aim to get your balls closer to ‘the jack’ than your opponent. It is one of three Paralympic sports in the 50p Olympic collection and is a sport unique to the Paralympic games.

The reverse design features a Boccia player in a wheelchair throwing a ball.
