A new United Kingdom 50p has been issued to mark the 40th anniversary of the publication of Raymond Briggs’ much-loved festive tale The Snowman™. Since its creation in 1978, The Snowman has become a Christmastime classic, more so since the twenty-six minute TV adaptation debuted on 26th December 1982.
The reverse design by Natasha Ratcliffe depicts the boy and the snowman flying through the night sky above Brighton Pier. The obverse features the fifth definitive portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
Thousands of Brilliant Uncirculated 40th Anniversary of The Snowman™ 50p coins will be struck, but just 2,018 will be officially postmarked by the Royal Mail with the date 12.11.2018 – 40 years since the book was published.
What’s more, each coin comes protectively sealed in a tamper-proof numismatic capsule with its own unique serial number so you can even register it online to receive your official DateStamp™ registration certificate.
Importantly, because of the special one-day-only postmark, just 2,018 of these issues will ever be made available. Don’t miss out, pre-order yours today.
