The Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy races are the annual motorcycle race run on the Isle of Man since its inaugural race in 1907.
As the race was not run during the First and Second World Wars, 2019 marks the 100th Isle of Man TT Race.
Coined as one of the most dangerous races in the world, it is known to motoring enthusiasts as the ‘Ultimate Road Race’.
Commemorating a legend
Steve ‘Hizzy’ Hislop was a Scottish motorbike racer who won the TT races eleven times!
Not only that, Hislop put in the first official 120mph lap in the Formula 1 race.
To celebrate these phenomenal achievements the Isle of Man has issued a brand new £2 coin.
Specially issued in 2019 to celebrate 30 years since his record breaking lap, your two pound coin features a delicate engraving of Hislop riding skilfully on his bike.
