To mark this once in a lifetime achievement, The Royal Mint have issued the Platinum Jubilee Silver Piedfort 50p in .925 Silver.

And it’s the FIRST TIME EVER that a royal event has been commemorated on a 50p coin. 

Special Commemorative Obverse

Rather than the customary portrait of the monarch, the special commemorative royal obverse depicts the Queen on horseback, whilst the reverse illustrates the 70 years of service.

Twice as rare, twice the silver, twice as limited

Each coin is struck to a proof finish, using specially polished blanks so that you can appreciate the design in beautiful detail.

But importantly, each coin has been struck in a special double thickness silver. Piedforts are the pinnacle of The Royal Mint's craftmanship and because of the time taken to strike them, they are exclusively issued in tiny edition limits.
