This year marks 100 years since the end of the First World War.
In commemoration of those who fought and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice a remarkable new issue has been released.
The Unknown Warrior Commemorative Medal - a striking first
The Unknown Warrior Commemorative medal is a striking first and fitting for such an important tribute year. This is because rather than feature an engraving of a soldier, it represents a far more poignant message. The ‘cut-out’ silhouette represents the missing soldier.
This missing piece represents all those who lie undiscovered on the battlefields of Europe - as the epitaph says, ‘known only to God’.
Featuring a soldier, standing silently, head bowed over his rifle, each piece is struck from the very finest 999/1000 silver and given a special antiqued finish. Each will come with a special Certificate of Authenticity and will be housed in its own Presentation Case. It will be among the most prestigious releases issued for the commemorations.
Limited to just 995
Among one of the most poignant releases issued for this centenary year a strict edition limit of just 995 has been created. This is because each silhouette is painstakingly cut out by a highly skilled craftsman in effect making each medal a hand-crafted piece of art.
Supporting the Royal British Legion
Due to its significance, the medal has been issued in partnership with The Royal British Legion. If you choose to own one, we will ensure a donation is made to them on your behalf.
With only 995 available, make sure you click ‘add to basket’ now to secure the most poignant World War One commemorative of the year.
