In 1897, The Royal Mint struck an impressive silver medallion to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. These medallions are now extremely rare and stand out as a unique tribute to the famous Queen.
The Diamond Jubilee Medallion
A number of medals and medallions were issued by a number of different organisations for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. But the medallion we have on offer today is the cream of the crop when it comes to Silver medals.
That’s because this is the official medallion issued by The Royal Mint, and is the larger size medal – an impressive 56mm in diameter!
The two sides of the medal feature beautiful reinterpretations of W.Wyon’s young head and veiled head portraits of the Queen, engraved by T.Brock, in high relief.
Limited stock available
These fascinating medallions are now extremely rare which is why unfortunately we only have 8 currently available for Westminster collectors.
What’s more, each medallion comes complete in its original Royal Mint presentation case from 1897!
