Not only is this the UK’s first coin to celebrate the Commonwealth Games, this is also the UK’s first EVER £2 coin – issued as a single metal collector’s edition coin.
The reverse design features a thistle encircled by a laurel wreath over the cross of St Andrew, representing Scotland as the Games were held in Edinburgh that year.
Following the introduction of bi-metallic £2 in 1997 coin, this coin was removed from circulation and can no longer be found in your change – adding to the collectability of this sought-after issue.
Add the 1986 Commonwealth Games £2 to your order for £13!
