Prestigious Piedfort celebrates the legendary Warrior Queen Boudica – JUST £25

Boudica was queen of the Iceni people of Eastern England and led a major uprising against occupying Roman forces in AD 60/61. After her husband’s tragic death in war, Boudica’s warriors went on to destroy London and Verulamium (St Albans), claiming it back from Roman forces.

As a hero in British folk law, her fearlessness in the face of adversity has been praised for encouraging future great leaders.

Renowned Artistry

The coins design features a specially commissioned depiction of Boudica, along with a scene showing the uprising in AD 60/61, by renowned artist David Young.

Struck to Piedfort specification, this coin is double the thickness of a normal coin and weighs twice as much. What’s more, it has been expertly plated in 24ct Gold and struck to a flawless Proof finish. Proof coins have the highest grade of finish found on coins and are produced using a specially prepared die and struck several times to ensure enhanced definition.

PIEDFORT COINS – a rich collecting history

The Piedfort, from the French word meaning heavy measure, began life as a prestigious gift exchanged between monarchs and visiting dignitaries. Its extra weight and thickness served as a powerful physical reminder of the richness of the kingdom and skill of its artisans. Those same traits ensure that today’s Piedfort coins remain amongst the most collectable new issue coins available, ensuring a deep heritage that will be passed on to generations to come.
