2020 UK Agatha Christie CERTIFIED BU £2

To celebrate ‘100 years of mystery’ in 2020, The Royal Mint issued a £2 coin honouring the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie.

As the author of 66 detective novels and 150 short stories, Agatha Christie is best known for her creation of the famous detective sleuths 'Poirot' and 'Miss Marple'. Her outstanding contribution to literature was celebrated in 1971 when she was made a Dame of the British Empire.

Christie’s first novel, ‘The Mysterious Affair at Styles’, was published in 1920 and is being celebrated, 100 years on, with this £2 coin.
