Britain’s most famous banknote now issued in Fine Silver

There are not so many people about today who remember using the White Fiver.  But it’s certainly the most famous British banknote ever issued.

Now, to mark 225 years since the ‘White Fiver’ was first issued, you have the opportunity to own this iconic banknote as a Fine Silver reproduction.

2.5 times larger

With dimensions of almost 20cm x 12cm, the White Fiver was 2.5 times larger than today’s £5 note

Not only would it be too big for your wallet today but it was considered vulnerable to copying, particularly after the Nazi’s Operation Bernhard tried to destabilise the British economy with fake White Fivers.

So it was with great sadness, that we saw our most famous banknote printed for the last time in 1956 – a century and a half after it was first issued by the Bank of England in 1793.

The Limited Fine Silver Issue

And now, to commemorate this famous banknote a limited number of perfect reproduction banknotes have been intricately struck into 5g of Fine Silver.

Protectively laminated and presented in a Display Album, this is the perfect piece of nostalgia and heritage to pass down to your children and grandchildren.
