Own the 'missing scene' from the Bayeux Tapestry on a solid silver coin-bar

1066. The one date every school child knows. The “beginning” of English history. The very last time an English army is defeated on its own soil.

Of course, much of what we know about the Battle of Hastings comes from the Bayeux Tapestry’s depiction of the Norman invasion. However, many historians believe that there is a missing scene from the Tapestry – the Coronation of William the Conqueror as William I of England at Westminster Abbey on 25th December 1066.

To restore this magnificent piece of history, the Jersey Treasury took the remarkable step of commissioning artist Colin Elgie to reimagine the missing last scene to create a British Isles first.

Very few coins are produced in this specification and considering just 9,500 of these coin bars have been authorised worldwide it is likely to be in high demand with collectors around the world – so don’t delay.
