Stories of the Second World War: UK Gold Proof 50p Coin

*LESS THAN 20 AVAILABLE FOR WESTMINSTER COLLECTORS*

To commemorate the incredible stories of everyday British people who contributed to the hard-fought victory of the Second World War, The Royal Mint has released a special 50p coin.

The coin's reverse design beautifully illustrates the experiences of both those on the front lines and those supporting from home, featuring detailed depictions of the War Medal 1939–45, the Defence Medal, and the 1939–45 Star.

This design is believed to be the first time in living memory that a UK 50p coin features two reigning Kings: His Majesty King Charles III on the obverse and King George VI—his grandfather—on the reverse, depicted within the World War II campaign medals.

The highly coveted Gold Proof specification offers collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of history.

With an exceptionally limited edition of only 150 coins, the Gold Proof is the most exclusive way to own this UK coin.

Of this edition limit, less than 20 are available for Westminster Collectors.

Key Features:

  • First UK 50p with Two Kings: Believed to be the only time in British numismatic history.
  • Authentic Design: Crafted in collaboration with the Imperial War Museums, ensuring historical accuracy and authenticity.
  • The Most Limited Specification: You can own one of just 150 in the world.
  • Exceptional Craftsmanship: Struck from 22 carat Gold with a pristine Proof finish, delivering remarkable detail that highlights the coin’s poignant design.
